The synergy between the software and hardware products allows for the detection and tracking of the position of objects and individuals within any standard WiFi network coverage, be it private (WLAN industrial/SOHO) or public (Hot Spot), without the need for registering/logging on to it.
The positioning is calculated thanks to advanced multidimensional algorithms which constitute the core of Ubiquicom’s RTLS (Real Time Location System) which is the foundation of a comprehensive platform for services and innovative solutions dedicated to both the civil and industrial market.
RTLS positioning systems provide an efficient tool for the identification and tracking of resources in order to increase efficiency, security and simplicity of manufacturing processes thanks to the use of a technology similar to GPS (Global Positioning System). In addition to the capabilities of GPS systems, Ubiquicom’s RTLS system is capable of working indoors allowing also for bi-directional broadband communication, contextualised to the positioning.
Individuals and assets may be tracked with an accuracy double that of GPS systems – as long as they are located within a standard WiFi network coverage and that they be equipped with any WiFi device such as a PDA, laptop, tablet PC, VOIP phone or advanced low-cost active RFID devices produced by Ubiquicom, called Ubiquicom Tags.
Thanks to Ubiquicom Tags, in addition to positioning services, the Ubiquicom platform provides solutions for the monitoring of individuals’ and assets’ physical characteristics whilst “offline”. More specifically, it allows for the recording of data (e.g. temperature, humidity, movement, etc.) to be collected independently of whether the individual or asset is within a WiFi coverage area. The data can then be read by a third party system in asynchronous mode once the device is able to register itself on an available WiFi network.
